Initial mind mapping, responses to brief and concept development

Last three mind maps where created through group conversations allowing collaborative thinking, idea generation and a great opportunity to gain insights to other people’s ideas, opinions and perspectives. I can now refer back to all of these throughout my project to help generate further concepts, themes and ideas to integrate within my project. Allowing myself to not just remind myself of my initial ideas and responses, but to also access a much broader and varied way of thinking through other people’s inputs and thoughts too.

This method of mind mapping to record my initial ideas, alongside sharing and reflecting on ideas and concepts with others in my class is one I found very valuable. I think this was mainly due to its ability to broaden ways of thinking, display my immediate responses and portray opinions I may have surrounding the briefs concepts and themes. Similarly, for the last few mind maps created alongside other people in my class, I feel as though they were a particularly valuable asset as they allowed me to really gain the all important insights and knowledge on how others felt towards some of the rather daunting and large ideas covered in the project and brief. Allowing me to not only further develop and discover how I may feel towards theses same ideas, but to also acknowledge the importance of being aware and respectful towards others and how they may feel about these ideas. This being not just in conversation but throughout my project as a whole. Overall, resulting in this becoming something I will look to continue to integrate throughout my project, whether this is through simple conversations with peers, feedback or mind mapping like I’ve done here.
