End of January tutorial reflections and actions in response

Image
Above is my end of January tutorial form outlining overall comments, reflections and goals that I can aim towards. Since my last tutorial, having now began the process of beginning, forming and developing my final piece for this Unit 2 project, Charlie was able to assess and review my development and progress. Something I feel very pleased with, ensuring I was being experimental and innovative enough in my creative process, refraining from sticking to a rigid and set structure and plan for the remaining weeks. I was also able to highlight areas I could further develop and grow. For example, in my printing and letter press plans tomorrow, choosing now to aim for a range of samples and tests prior to committing and printing onto my garemnt itself. Not only giving me the opportunity to test many different styles, compositions, layouts and aesthetics within my letterpress, but also providing me with many tests and trials to reflect and develop separately within my project.   Lastly...

Focus, analysis and feedback on my reflection process and how I use my reflection

We then went onto, in small groups, discuss and feedback on our reflection processes allowing us to highlight and indicate possible areas of improvement and development. Personally, I found this valuable as it allowed me to gain an input from an outsider’s perspective on my proposal, but also gain ideas on how I could develop my proposal and project in response to how other people use reflection and their reflection process.   For example, most of my group where, like me, self-acknowledged 'over writers' and although we all recognised this as a valuable area and step within out development and creative journey, found a few way of keeping and preserving our more natural and knee jerk reactions we jot down within work shows. Overall allowing for a less over refined and prescribed look and expectation for all our work. Personally, I could look to do this simple by writing and committing to my automatic reactions and thoughts within workshops, making these my annotation, rather tha...

Page two project proposal research, draft and feedback

Image
For this initial draft of our second page to our project proposals we were asked to consider and plan a slide for our projects 'Planning, Sketching and Ideas' areas. For this I initially used the examples in google classroom of previous students proposals to highlight the key areas I needed to display. Such as: sketches, modelling, photography, sketchbook pages, intentions in my work, how my work linked to previous development, creatives I’ve researched and some of my key concepts and themes within my project. Overall, allowing me to have a checklist to ensure my page 2 in my project proposal reflected and embodied all the elements needed.    Personally, I chose to focus on my developments I’ve made following the new year, relating to developing and modelling with my collected second hand garments. All aiming to develop and produce a final piece that reflects my project as a whole and embodies all my ideas and concepts. To display all of this I chose to photo...

January tutorial reflections and actions in response

Image
Above is my January tutorial form outlining overall comments, actions, reflections and goals that I can aim towards upon having this tutorial and receiving my feedback. This tutorial was a slightly longer slot, allowing Charlie to properly review my project, my documentation and ensure that I was not only keeping up to date on all my projects key elements, but also progressing as expected through my project. Overall, I was very pleased to hear that my project, as a whole, was progressing and developing well and that all the key elements needed where in fact correctly evidenced as I thought.   This tutorial also highlighted possible opportunities I could look to develop further within my recent process of modelling and developing design ideas and concepts, using the garments I've collected from second hand charity shops and my own old garments. Here we spoke about the possibility of becoming more brave and bold, as a developing fashion student, not only looking for technique, me...
